Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This policy covers the binmodules.com website and general correspondence with Binmodules. Our mobile applications have their own mobile apps privacy policy.
Binmodules ("we", "our", or "us") builds and operates software products. This policy explains what information we handle when you visit our website or get in touch with us, and how we use it.
Information we collect
This website is intentionally simple. It has no user accounts and no tracking. Its one form is the Tariff Lens notifications sign-up, described below.
- No cookies: We do not set cookies or use similar tracking technologies.
- No analytics or advertising: We do not run analytics, advertising or social media tracking scripts.
- Server logs: Like any website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used only to operate and secure the site.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, name and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use this only to reply to you and to handle your request. We do not add you to mailing lists or sell your details.
Tariff Lens notifications
If you sign up for Tariff Lens notifications (an e-mail when a pipeline's tariff is filed, takes effect, or is acted on by FERC), we keep:
- What you gave us: your e-mail address, your name if you typed one, the pipelines and the kinds of change you chose, how often you want to hear from us, and the name of a pipeline you asked us to add.
- The consent: the time you signed up, the IP address the sign-up came from, the version of the consent text you agreed to, and the time you confirmed the address by opening the link we e-mailed.
- What we sent: when each e-mail went out and whether it was delivered, so a bouncing address is not written to again.
We use this only to send the notifications you asked for and to show that you asked for them. Nothing is sent to an address until it is confirmed from the e-mail, and no address is added to any other list.
The e-mails are sent through Microsoft Azure Communication Services in the United States, which also tells us whether each one was delivered. They carry no tracking pixels and we do not record whether an e-mail was opened or a link clicked.
We keep this for as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, everything above is deleted except the address itself, which stays on a list of addresses we must not e-mail again so a later sign-up by mistake sends nothing; an address that bounces or reports an e-mail as unwanted is kept the same way.
Every e-mail has a link to a settings page that shows everything we hold about the address and lets you change it, and a link that stops the e-mails at once. You can also write to tariff-lens@binmodules.com.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of providers to run this website:
- Microsoft Azure hosts the website and processes the server logs described above.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site. Your browser requests them directly from Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
Each provider handles that information under its own privacy policy.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers above, or where the law requires us to.
Data retention
We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request and maintain a reasonable record of it. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing the address below.
Products
Our products may have their own terms. Our mobile applications are covered by the mobile apps privacy policy. For Tariff Lens, see sources & independence.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
